Rocrail is a software application used to control digital and analog model train layouts, including automated and manual train operations.
Core Features and Architecture
Client-Server Design: It uses a client-server structure via TCP/IP. The Rocrail Server connects to the physical layout hardware, while the Rocview Client runs the interface.
Automation: It supports automatic block-based routing, track sensor tracking, and scheduling so multiple trains can run independently without crashing.
Cross-Platform: The software runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Raspberry Pi. In my case, it runs on Linux (Lubuntu) on a “old” laptop.
Mobile and Web Control: It includes a web interface (Rocweb) and mobile client apps for remote operation.
