📷️ Keeping the Tracks Safe: Introducing Project TrackWatch
The Houndline Railroad is taking a major leap forward in security and innovation. We are excited to announce the rollout of our new CCTV tracking initiative: Project TrackWatch. This advanced Closed Circuit Television system combines rugged onboard cameras, trackside surveillance, and cutting-edge AI-driven analytics to protect our passengers, rolling stock, and vital infrastructure.
Innovation Driven by Passion
Behind this breakthrough is Mr. Naamtaan, our dedicated project leader and a true tech hobbyist at heart.

Mr. Naamtaan has spent countless hours in the CCTV Development Lab testing hardware configurations, optimizing software, and leveraging the power of artificial intelligence to bring this vision to life. His hands-on dedication in the lab has allowed us to accelerate development and build a highly capable system from the ground up.
How It Works: The Tech Behind TrackWatch
Project TrackWatch proves that smart, secure technology doesn’t have to rely on overpriced proprietary systems. The entire framework is built on flexible, powerful open-source and micro-hardware solutions:
- ESP32-Cam Microcontrollers: Low-cost, highly efficient units deployed to capture video feeds across various points.
- MediaMTX Live Media Server: A robust server architecture that handles routing and live streaming of video feeds smoothly.
- Cloudflare Tunnels: End-to-end encrypted tunnels that safely and securely connect our local network monitoring systems directly to the internet.
From the Lab to the Tracks

Our field crews are already hard at work installing these surveillance nodes along active lines. By blending trackside positioning with AI analytics, TrackWatch can automatically flag potential hazards, track rolling stock anomalies, and give our operators real-time visibility like never before.
Whether optimizing code at the development bench or rigging hardware up on telemetry poles, the Houndline Railroad team is working hard to ensure a safer journey for everyone.
