⛑️ Miracle at the Docks: How 4 Baht and a Good Boy Saved Rail History!
While most people are spending All Saints’ Day lighting candles and visiting family memorials, the HoundLine RailRoad delegation had a very different kind of resurrection in mind down at the Laem Chabang docks.

Our very own Finance Director, Mr. Euro—who happens to look remarkably sharp in a cardigan and tie—has been on a global rescue mission. He traveled all the way to the USA to strike a deal with LG&B, pulling four heavily damaged, historic rail passenger cars straight out of a scrapyard “graveyard”. After tracking their journey across the ocean from Tacoma with Captain Mateo Silva of the SS Sea Raider, the precious cargo finally arrived outside Bangkok. Mr. Euro oversaw the delicate operation of crane-lifting these rusty beauties onto flatbed trucks—all while casually enjoying a burger, because saving history works up quite an appetite!

But the real magic happened at the Customs & Import Duty Office. Prepared for a brutal financial showdown, Mr. Euro pointed out the window at the battered frames and pleaded his case: “Look at the physical state of these cars!”. The customs officer took one look, shrugged, and agreed. “Actually, they are worthless. We should be happy your railroad will give them a new life”. With a satisfying thud of his stamp, the officer finalized the ultimate bargain: 1 baht import duty tax per car! Yes, you read that right. Four historic rail cars for the price of a small piece of candy. Talk about a finance director who knows how to fetch a deal!
Once the weekend wraps up, this historic caravan will make its way under police guidance to Prachuabkirikhan. It’s a 300-kilometer journey, but these old classics are officially on track toward their glorious second act on the HoundLine network.
Stay tuned for restoration updates—we promise they’ll look like a million bucks (even if they only cost four baht)!
